Petrol Mercedes S-class: what changes with a remap

Factory petrol calibrations leave margin for poor fuel and hot climates. A remap tunes the ignition, fuelling and boost maps to make better use of that margin, which shows up as livelier throttle response and stronger acceleration.

Mercedes S 600 500(+99) against other S-class engines

Ranked by power gain against the other petrol S-class engines (16 in total), the S 600 500(+99) is 13th, 12 bhp below the S-class petrol average of 32 bhp.

Across our whole catalogue the average petrol remap adds 27 bhp and 51 Nm, so this engine's 20 bhp and 35 Nm sits below that benchmark.
